So im sitting in the kitchen trying to figure out what experiment to try today. I woke up this morning with a strong desire to attempt to make rainbow cupcakes. I have been so intent on trying them that late last evening, after I sadly realized all the bakery supply stores and hobby lobby were closed; I ventured out to HEB hoping they would have at least a decent selection of food colors. No such luck. I didn't find the colors I needed, however, the trip was not a total loss because I was introduced to a firecracker sushi roll, which was quite good. I know, its hard to believe that you would find good sushi rolls at your local heb, I too was incredulous at first, but one sample, and I was hooked!!! Back to the rainbow cupcakes, well like I was saying, I didn't find the colors, I want bright flourescent colors, and heb only had the basics and pastels. So with a dissapointed heart I got ready to trudge back home when out of the corner of my eye a bright yellow paper caught my eye... could it be? was I seeing things?.... and as I turned my head... it became a reality.... A COUPON... I don't mean to be overdramatic here, but I sure do love my coupons! The cherry on top was finding out that the coupon was a buy two get a dollar off on any wilton decorating sprinkles!! I was overjoyed and with my basket full of coupons and sprinkles I came home and looked at my newfound treasures. The evening was not a loss at all... sushi roll and sprinkles... what can top that?? Well im sure you can come up with a million more exciting things right off the top of your head, but this is me we're talking about here, and to be honest, theyre's not much out there that peaks my excitement to the extent that food and baking does!!! Back to the subject of the cupcakes once again, sorry I am easily distracted, but to make a long story short, no food colors.... no cupcakes... and that was that.... lol. such a long story for such a dissapointing ending.... but theyre's a positive side to this. Since I couldn't make the cupcakes I set out on a hunt for another recipe to make... and it is then that I discovered perfection!! That story I will save for my next post because I am finding a way to perfect perfection, and because I feel this post has dragged on for way too long!!
By the way, I would like to mention that this is my first try at blogging, I have had no previous experience with this and to add to my disgrace, am also technology challenged. I was thinking of ideas to make this blogspot demand attention, and I realized that most things that do, involve women in sexy poses, bikinis, or severely photoshopped photos. Lol. I will do neither, and to be honest, this is an attempt at a food blog, thus indicating that it is here that I will record my passion for baking, cooking, and eating... So do you really think I am in any shape to be photographed in a bikini??? lol.
